Derrik Lewis’ Musical Chairs Concerts is an ASCAP- licensed concert series based in Palm Springs, California. They are currently planning their Tenth Season.

Produced and hosted by veteran performer and resident musicologist Derrik Lewis,
Musical Chairs now presents four or five
concerts each year.

Originally their concerts were produced in association with the non-profit Palm Canyon Theatre under their Educational Outreach Program.  In 2005, they moved to the prestigious 400-seat Annenberg Theater at the Palm Springs Art Museum and this season will add the new Indio Performing Arts Center at the east end of the Coachella Valley. To date Musical Chairs has created 50 original concerts and presented over 250 evenings of music.

Musical Chairs is licensed by ASCAP ( NYC ), the American Association of Composers, Authors & Publishers, to present the music of 20th Century composers and lyricists in a unique, educational, entertaining, concert form.

Musical Chairs continues to produce with their special “PBS” - style concert format and a mandate to Celebrate, Educate, Entertain and Discover.

Colorful “Musical Chairs” are placed on stage and performers move from chair to chair and to various solo spots and music stands in an unique concert / revue format accompanied by a trio of top local musicians.
